The Pearson Test of English (PTE)

The Pearson Test of English (PTE)

The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a computer-oriented language assessment test for overseas students who want to apply to countries where English is the primary language. The PTE Academic exam is accessible throughout the year for students seeking admission to a university. The test is separated into 4 different areas, each divided into three parts: speaking & writing, reading, and listening. After appearing for the exam, candidates can receive their test result within 2 to 48 hours (5 working days max). The results of the PTE Academic test are valid for two years.

How to master PTE exam and boost score?

  1. In the speaking module, emphasis should be given to fluency, pronunciation, and content. Avoid extended pauses. Also, if you make a mistake, try not to correct yourself and go with the flow.
  2. Pay attention to your accent. When speaking, be natural and pay attention to where and when to emphasize a particular sentence.
  3. When speaking, make sure the position of your microphone is parallel to your mouth so that your voice is clearly understood by the computer. Try to be loud and clear. Whispering while the computer records your response will result in a loss of points.
  4. Practice adopting complicated and compound sentences while writing a summary. Because your response must be conveyed in a single sentence, you must use a complicated or compound sentence to summarize the passage's major argument.
  5. Before you begin writing your essay, make a plan. Understand the topic and take 2 minutes to brainstorm ideas. This is critical because if your essay deviates from the topic, you will lose points. To attain the best scores, use the template.
  6. As the PTE academic is a computer-based assessment, any typing error will be viewed by the computer as a spelling mistake. Therefore, watch out for mistakes.
  7. Time management is critical in the reading module. Spend no more than two minutes on each question.
  8. Before you read the passage, read the question. This will assist you in determining what information you require while also saving you time.
  9. For the listening module, familiarize yourself with the native English accent. Only when you understand what is said in the audio can you respond to a question.
  10. Put some note-taking practice. The listening module's recordings will only be played once. You won't be able to remember the complete audio. As a result, taking notes will assist you in tackling the question.
