NOC stands for No Objection Certificate. It is a document issued by the Government of Nepal declaring that they have no objections regarding your plans to study in abroad.
NOC is also commonly known as No Objection Letter. In Nepal, only the Ministry of Education is prime provider of NOC. In order to fulfill your dream to study abroad, you must receive NOC from the Ministry of Education.
What is the purpose of No Objection Letter?
Getting NOC means you have the Government of Nepal's legal permission to study in foreign countries and can make payments to the intended institutions abroad. Students must present their NOC to the bank when making any payment to the institution that is under the list of NOC. If you want to pay for more than one institution or country, you must obtain separate NOCs for each institution. NOC is also required when exchanging NPR for other foreign currencies.
Who is eligible to apply for NOC?
Anyone who wishes to study in another country may apply for NOC. A student should, however, have a valid offer from the university where they chose to study.

How much does it cost to get NOC in Nepal?
As revenue, the Ministry of Education charges Rs. 2000 for each NOC. If you want NOC for another course, school, or level, you must pay an additional Rs. 2000.
How long does it take to get NOC?
You will get it the same day if applied physically and if all the documents are complete. Applying online may take 1-2 business days.
Is NOC required even if I don’t have to pay anything to foreign schools?
Before leaving, you may be asked for a NOC by an immigration officer. If you are going to study abroad, it is always advisable to get NOC.
